rooftop envy

In today's New York Times, an article about how the competition to build the tallest building continues today:

  • I've spent the last two years working my way through the San Francisco Building department to get a permit for a roof deck on my flat near Ghirardelli. It isn't easy and isn't cheap. It also isn't quite what I wanted...mostly because of structural and zoning issues, but it is now almost finished. The problem now is figuring out what will grow on my roof. Not everything grows well when exposed to the wind and fog of the bay. I haven't been able to find any resources for rooftop gardens and would welcome any suggestions.

  • Hey there!

I love the blog. I'm CEO of a green graphic design firm in Boulder, CO and a co-founder of Renewable Choice, one of the country's leading wind power companies.

Anyway, I wanted to share a little web trick I found a few years back. Visit tinyurl.com the next time you have a long URL to post. You can paste the long URL in and they'll spit out a much smaller one that will redirect to your page.

So I turned your long URL into this http://tinyurl.com/dhz6s. Check out our site at www.skyecreative.com.
